App in the Air

App in the Air is your personal travel assistant. Founded by entrepreneur Bayram Annakov and his team in 2012, App in the Air is a technology company designed for frequent flyers and the airlines and airports that serve them. In order to make travel seamless and enjoyable, the award winning app offers many essential functions from real-time flight updates to an AR luggage measurement tool, and a recently introduced, carbon neutral traveler program. Its audience has grown from a small network of dedicated fliers to over six million users with 20 million itineraries tracked per year. The platform creates an augmented reality map of the user’s previous and upcoming trips, with the option to see flight paths as a 2-D interactive or 3-D globe. Through traveling, users accumulate points as part of App in the Air’s game; the app keeps track of your ‘score’ of the destinations traveled to, creating a worldwide leaderboard. Users also earn fun badges for countries visited and travel achievements, such as visiting the same airport 5 times or traveling the distance of the equator. The app recently launched a range of tools to make air travel in the ‘new normal’ simpler, including making it easy to search country to country travel restrictions, airport and airline requirements and key health search filters for those looking to book flights and hotels right now.
