From October 17 through October 25, 2015, Dutch Design Week (DDW.nl) was held for the fourteenth time. DDW is the biggest design event in Northern Europe and it presents work and ideas of more than 2400 designers to more than 250,000 International visitors. The nature of these types of events makes it difficult for organizers to gather all the relevant information (such as activities, designer descriptions etc.) way ahead of time. Exhibition approvals and participant confirmations often extend until few precious days before the actual Design Week.
In spite of all the surprising obstacles, Our agency "Eindhoven365.nl" with the help of our partner "www.proxible.com" have managed to build a premium app only to enhance visitor’s experience at this years’ Dutch Design Week. However, the App was finalized just few days before the Dutch Design Week festival. Meanwhile, our team has researched the most used apps in the Netherlands and then pick those familiar/useful app's user experience to be implemented.
"Eindhoven 365" had to follow certain guideline from DDW's campaign design partner (Fabrique.nl). Fabrique made a campaign concept for 2015 that linked, promote reflection and encourages the general public to attend the event. Fabrique's campaign showed design’s role in generating social renewal. The theme for 2015 was "What if" To give this theme a shape we devised a dynamic content generator. The generator combines What if with three phrases that, at first glance, have little to do with one another. The coupling of these phrases leads to surprising questions like "what if…my body…could…light up". Questions that connect, surprise and raise eyebrows. Our solution to color code guidelines were moving gradients that were changing to solid color codes from Fabrique's Guideline. Besides, we have created a "what if" Generator (Gamification method) The generator is built exclusively for this year’s Dutch Design Week campaign “What if”. The Generator lets the visitors of the app to share a custom “theme” banner on their social media network using the app. Therefore, visitors of DDW2015 could replicate and/or made their own version of posters (that were presented all over the town).
We made sure that the audience of this design festival get to experience the Dutch Design Week with iBeacon technology. The Dutch Design Week App 2015 combines best methods in mobile technology to deliver relevant information at the right time to the visitors at the various venue that are hosting this event.
Some of the functionalities are as follows:

beacon technology helps the pre-defined routes to be much more engaging. The notifications can be disabled directly via the app settings.
