The Hotwire app offers a state-of-the-art map experience that leverages native map functionality in hotel results, details and confirmation pages. By taking advantage of the latest in Android's capabilities and integrating technology into maps and lists we've made it easier for travelers to see both the map and the detail list rather than tap back and forth between pages. We surface neighborhood-specific details to help familiarize travelers with the area and added easy-to-view animations for travelers to find and discover details within neighborhoods they're searching. We offer one-touch access to hotel locations and directions as well from the confirmation and post-booking trip details. The Hotwire Android app is the only travel app to offer this smooth, interactive experience, making it possible for travelers to control their experiences with maps and lists.
The Hotwire app has also been optimized to reduce the number of taps required to search, book or access existing bookings. One simple tap on the home page shows travelers the available hotels in the area. Tapping an area on the map filters the list to just the hotels in that area making it quick and easy to locate the hotels that meet their needs. In as little as four taps a traveler can Search, Find and Book a hotel room. Once the booking is complete, travelers can see the hotel location on Google maps or call the hotel to make any special requests, all in a single tap. Additionally, travelers can call our customer service group 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from any page within the app. The 'My Trips' feature allows travelers to check their itinerary on the go to confirm the location and get directions or call directly to the hotel to request a late check-in.
In addition to a seamless experience for hotel offerings, the Hotwire Android app is also available for car rentals. We offer both opaque and retail car rentals together with the same, user-friendly interface that combines the car details pages with the booking page for a faster check-out experience. This feature eliminates taps and travelers aren't required to scroll back and forth to see details.
