MeoGO! is an integrated multiplatform media service that gives access, in and away from home, to the following features:
- Up to 60 live TV channels (most viewed MEO channels, >80% of audience share) and access to the EPG;
- Video On-Demand with more than 2000 movies;
- Home DVR management and recordings scheduling.
- Remote Control
All these services are seamlessly supported by a highly evolved technological platform that ensures that each media content is only subscribed once but can be experienced all-round, meaning:
- Any Device: Contents can be watched on all devices (Smartphones, Tablets, Computers) – up to three devices simultaneously authenticated Any Operating System: Contents are available in iOS, Android or Windows Phone (first worldwide launch of live TV channels over WP)
- Any Network on Any Operator: Customers can access the service via any internet connection, fixed or mobile, with any operator. Contents can be experienced over Managed Networks or Unmanaged Networks. In the latter, contents play faultlessly regardless of network speed/quality, due to an Adaptive Bitrate Video Streaming Technique, that continuously adjusts the video resolution to the quality of the network.
- Any Content Type: Both live TV channels and VoD assets are available, delivered over a trusted DRM ‘service’, which effectively allows for rights’ management (either on 3G, 4G, Wi-Fi, DSL or Fiber networks).
- Multiple service levels and payment options: MEO GO! at home is free of charge, available to all payTV subscribers for a multiscreen inhome experience; MEO GO! away from home requires a monthly fee (at present it is promotionally free of charge) although, PT convergence products allow mobile subscribers to benefit from zeroed out traffic for TV channel viewing over PT’s mobile network. VoD rental s can be charge to the Meo invoice or paid through a virtual pre-paid card. This card is rechargeable and allows for a flexible control of content expensed.
- Remote Control was initially conceived as a virtual remote control that allowed customers to control set-top-boxes through a Wi-Fi connection. Today Remote Control has evolved to become a full-fledged companion device, offering social sharing features, a play to TV mode that allows any content on the device to be shared/ sent to the TV, among others.
