Once Upon a War Time

Moreton Bay Regional Council presents: Once Upon a War Time - an interactive storytelling app to commemorate the region’s participation in World War I.

Within the app, you’re able to hear from Will Short as he narrates you through three stories, representational of life during the war.

The characters in the app are fictional, and designed to reflect the experiences of local people.

You can also find the region's soldiers linked directly to the library database. The register of soldiers includes those who were born in or attended school in the region; had a strong family connection with or lived in the region around the time of joining up; or are on a local memorial or honour board. If you have more information about a soldier, please use the link on that soldier's record within the app to share that information with us.

Furthermore, you'll find relevant early memorials within the region (those erected in or prior to 1930) as well as discover more about the clothing and equipment of a typical soldier.
