In 2019, AgreeYa Solutions partnered with the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) to develop and launch its air quality application based on the needs of Southern California residents. The SCAQMD app monitors air quality for the more than 18 million residents living in the Orange County, Los Angeles County, San Bernardino County and Riverside County areas, which are collectively ranked among the poorest air quality regions in the nation.
Through careful analysis and creative engineering, AgreeYa built the SCAQMD mobile app from the ground up with a focus on intuitive interface design and responsiveness. Drawing its data from over 30 EPA-approved receptors, the SCAQMD app features real-time air quality forecasts, interactive air quality maps, configurable air quality notifications and health alerts for multiple South Coast basin cities. Unique among its features is the Help Cut Smog module, which allows users to file an air quality complaint, or alert the organization to an equipment breakdown or smoking vehicle via their mobile device; and an Esri GIS data-enabled interactive map that helps users easily locate alternative-fuel stations.
The SCAQMD application was an instant success upon its release and has helped SCAQMD bolster awareness of its efforts in local communities. Today, this app brings in more than 3,500 daily users, who in addition to regularly receiving important air quality information, also report greater awareness of their environmental footprint.
