Visually impaired people will be able to take photos and selfies using their phone’s front and back cameras with audible warning system for the first time in Turkey.
In 2018, in Turkey, Turk Telekom launched Eyesense for visually impaired customers. The service is in live and available on the market for the clients, customers or end users in Turkey for now. The service can be easily applied all over the World. Every customer can use this technology, free-of-charge.
Turkey’s leading information and communications technologies company Turk Telekom’s new mobile app EyeSense allows users to take both photos and selfies by using front and back camera of the phone with the voice guidance.
Application aligns scene and helps users to take others’ photos and own selfies easily. By tagging people who are photographed, app is aimed to see who has photographed on the screen.
With Eyesense app, real innovation comes from bringing simple technologies together with little need for extra operational activity. In addition, just with a taking photo and selfie with the voice guidance via their mobile phones, life becomes much less complicated, much more independent for the visually impaired.
As Turk Telekom, we have some plans about our service. Such as, object recognition. Since visually impaired people can have their own senses, they can recognize the objects. With this application, a person who has never been able to see can perceive the obstacles that may arise while walking.
In Turk Telekom, we think that mobile telecommunications have played a critical part in enabling people's lives and rejoining them in the social life in Turkey.
