Medcorder is a mobile app for recording and sharing medical information.
Medcorder solves the problem of recording and storing crucial medical info, it allows the users to record the conversation with the doctor, associate one or more doctors with that recording, transcribe and save it. The recorded conversation is transcribed in text and attached to the audio, which allows users to track the conversation and highlight the most important points to get proper further treatment. The recording can be shared with friends and family as well as with other doctors.
Medcorder is oriented around a patient making recordings for themselves and allowing the family members and close friends to comprise a Trusted Care Team, contribute their own recordings, pictures, and notes concerning the patient's condition. It has a simple and convenient for daily chatting messenger, where you can send text, images, audio, and video messages and discuss any medical issues with your beloved ones.
The proof-of-concept Medcorder application is built using Flutter with the extension module to include microphone recording. The user sees a list of existing recordings sorted chronologically, and can create a new recording. After the recording completes, it gets uploaded to a server where it undergoes transcription via Google Speech API. All recordings, whether transcribed or not, have an OS-appropriate “share" button which enables the users to share them with contacts via SMS.
