This was going to be the one solution for ‘Everything United’. Besides releasing a revamped website(www.manutd.com), we also released the first-ever official free-to-download D2C app (Manchester United Official App) that has deep integrations into delivering the club’s business outcomes – e-commerce, ticketing, sponsorship, venue operating platforms and more. In the immediate aftermath of the launch, we got some very encouraging results:
1) The Official MU App obtained users in 214 global markets/territories in the first 3 days post launch
2) The Official MU App was the #1 downloaded sports app in 68 markets (App store) and in the Top 10 list for 123 markets (App store); in the UK, the app topped the download charts on launch day across all non-games apps
3) The Official MU App obtained a rating of 4.9/5 on App store and 4.7/5 on Play Store with 82% of the 100K+ ratings being 5/5
4) The Official MU App has over 1 million downloads across Play Store and App Store
