The Android 5.0 Lollipop update is just beginning to roll out for Android Wear. These wearable devices will now have the ability to download their own watch faces, such as PAC-MAN and others.

Thanks to the new Watch Face API open to developers, we are very excited to see what people come up with. Best part is, all you have to do is go to the Google Play store to download them. It’s just one more reason why Android is so great, allowing anyone to use their creativity to create amazing products and designs for the general public to download.

This update has also made it much easier for users to browse, download, and switch watch faces seamlessly. One of our favorite updates is “Theater Mode” where the watch stays dark and on vibrate while in a dark room. This update, as you will see once it hits your device, makes the wearable items much smarter in real-time as per the “Theater Mode” example.

The voice recognition capabilities allows you do much more on the watch face than just see the time or your notifications. Android Wear allows the user to search and send messages right through the device on their wrist.

The best part could in fact be the ability for Android Wear to make suggestions and produce notifications based on where you are. Get weather updates to your wrist before anyone else or get step by step traffic updates for your early morning meeting all based on where you are at any given time.

Android 5.0 Lollipop puts up a serious fight to Apple’s iWatch, so it will be very interesting to see who innovates the best to bring the greatest product to market.
