Recently we had an opportunity to speak with Maanas Mediratta, the CEO at NITL app about NITL app

Please share with us the backstory of what motivated you to create this app.

Fake news is 5 times more likely to reach you on social media than true news. The current platforms focus on short format without looking at the socially conscious side of things. We wanted to do both. Hence we created this platform that gives you the best news reading experiences with 3 bullet point summaries, news timelines, videos, etc. bundled with the award-winning UX.

What features do you hope to roll out to your app in the future?

As said, the key one is to allow people to do something good while reading. the other ones we have lined up for Q1 21 and Q2 21 is more language support and allowing the readers to submit what are the stories they have read elsewhere on the app to spread awareness. the latter feature will be fact-checked by our internal team,

What has been the most rewarding aspect of the creation of this app?

The fact that we are able to inform people about important things itself has been very gratifying. We are working on something very exciting, which we will launch very soon. In short, you will be able to take part in important causes while reading the news - something that we think our readers will appreciate :)

What is the coolest or most innovative feature of your app?

Our UX is clearly our best feature but internally we love our timelines. It helps the reader gets a comprehensive understanding of the news story. Something that the readers don't realize is that each story in the timeline is also in 3 bullet points. Our most important value is being concise - which is reflected in each of our stories.

What surprised you most in your journey to create this app?

What surprised us is that people really want to read the news but they just did not have an avenue to engage. With the NITL app, they are pleasantly surprised which is a source of joy for the whole NITL team.

Which other mobile apps or technology have inspired you?

We honestly wanted a superb UX for which Flutter is great. It also allows you to develop in both platforms which is a big plus.

Do you have any recommendations or advice for others wanting to create a mobile app?

Flutter is a promising technology and the power of AI can elevate any app to the next level.

How did you decide which platforms to release your app on and do you plan on releasing your app to other platforms?

We will stock with iOS and Android.

How is your app different than the rest of the market? Which unique need does it fill?

People nowadays want to be aware of burning social issues such as climate change, gender equality, social movements, etc. We provide them with focused content while ensuring the experience they get gives them maximum information in the most optimum amount of time.

People want to be aware while not spending too much time - that is where NITL app fit in.
