Please share with us the backstory of what motivated you to create this app.

Growing up in a small town with a lack of professional services and with a passion for health and wellbeing, I was inspired by my own struggles through motherhood to develop my business. It was my aim to provide professional baby/child sleep advice to all parents, regardless of geographical location.

What features do you hope to roll out to your app in the future?

More age categories in the 'Sleep Solutions' tab. A baby diary tracker to log everything from sleeps, milk feeds and meals to nappy changes.

What has been the most rewarding aspect of the creation of this app?

Reading the feedback from happy customers!

What is the coolest or most innovative feature of your app?

The coolest feature of the Baby Sleep Guide App is found in the text. The information provided for parents is literally life changing. Studies suggest that sleep deprivation is the number 1 cause of post natal depression in both mothers and fathers and the education provided in this app has proven positive results.

Do you have any recommendations or advice for others wanting to create a mobile app?

By investing in yourself, your passions and goals this makes for an exciting career choice and I would encourage you to just go for it. I would suggest reaching out to a support network to meet other like-minded app developers who will inspire you and open doors to opportunities for you to you to achieve your goals and aspirations. I would emphasise the importance of a structured business plan along with seeking professional advice in areas requiring expertise.

How did you decide which platforms to release your app on and do you plan on releasing your app to other platforms?

Parents (mothers in particular) favour IOS by far so it was an easy choice to develop this first with the plan to develop for Android in the near future.

How is your app different than the rest of the market? Which unique need does it fill?

The Baby Sleep Guide App is the only IOS App to provide detailed professional sleep advice from internationally recognised sleep consultants. Other similar App's provide tips and suggestions but Baby Sleep Guide is filled with proven solutions that can be used immediately. Its unique simplified user interface is perfect for sleep deprived parents who want answers fast.

What surprised you most in your journey to create this app?

That the app world is not a 'build and they will come' industry. An entire foundation of social media and marketing needs to be developed to support the ongoing life of the App.

Which other mobile apps or technology have inspired you?

The Wonder Weeks parenting App was a huge help to me while raising my own children. It is educational and simple to use.
