Recently we had an opportunity to speak with Jon Pethke, the CEO at Introwoo LLC about CoyAmore
Please share with us the backstory of what motivated you to create this app.
I was sitting in my office talking with friends about dating and dating apps and just expressed how I wished there was a dating app that catered to introverts. My friend stated "why don't you make it?". So I took to the internet to research its viability and the rest is history.
How is your app different than the rest of the market? Which unique need does it fill?
Whereas other apps will state that their features can be beneficial for introverts, we are different in that our app in whole will be beneficial for introverts because they are our sole focus in this venture. Apart from Providing the platform itself some of our current features cater directly to introverts and the intention is that new features that are applied to the app will also be helpful for introverts. Additionally our match algorithm is based off of the 5 universal love languages.
What is the coolest or most innovative feature of your app?
"Blind Date" Is something I came up with to help introvert's go on dates together. When 2 users match and begin talking there is a toggle option and when a user toggles it on it'll let the lap app know that they are ready to go on a date with the other person but it won't let the other person know until they also toggle it on. Once both users toggle it on the app will let them both know they are ready to go on a date with each other. This essentially takes the fear out of asking a person out.
What has been the most rewarding aspect of the creation of this app?
So far for me it was the design aspect. I had an idea of what I wanted and what I wanted to go into the app initially and being a part of that development process and helping create exactly what I had in mind and seeing it come to life has been very rewarding.
What surprised you most in your journey to create this app?
I would say the intricacies of creating a logo and an app name that can work for what you want to represent. It's not very straightforward and representting a community such as the one we chose isn't simple.
How did you decide which platforms to release your app on and do you plan on releasing your app to other platforms?
Considering apple and Android are the big players it was a pretty straightforward decision. In general, I would like CoyAmore to be accessible by everyone so it's safe to say that the intention is there, but it may take some time.
Which other mobile apps or technology have inspired you?
Bumble is a good example of this and that they chose a niche to explore and cater to just the same way we want to.
What features do you hope to roll out to your app in the future?
I have a few ideas in mind that I've brainstormed out on paper that i'd like to incorporate into the app that will help introverts date easier in the future.
Do you have any recommendations or advice for others wanting to create a mobile app?
Have patience and thoroughly vet who you want to develop.
