Recently we had an opportunity to speak with
Ashley, the Developer at

about ISIS Alarm
Please share with us the backstory of what motivated you to create this app.
We live in a terrible world where we never know when we will take our last breaths. We are now moving to an almost daily attack, even not a weekly attack!
Will I get shot at school or work? Will a plane hit my building? Will my car, bus, or building blow up? Will I get shot when I'm eating in McDonald? Will I ever be back home when I leave for work? We just don't know.
What surprised you most in your journey to create this app?
We had huge amount of impressions in social media, especially on Facebook and Twitter. Everyday our center is answerind hundreds of messages coming from 200 countries worldwide. This never happened to our other apps before.
Which other mobile apps or technology have inspired you?
There have been a few more apps to warn people for Terrorist attacks before. In 2013 Israeli Government released "Red Alert" Mobile app to alerts its citizen in case of Rocket attacks to Israeli cities. In 2015, The French government released a mobile phone app called "SAIP" to alert the public in the event of a terrorist attack in France only.
"ISIS Alarm" mobile app was released in 2016 in Denmark and is covering all cities and countries worldwide. It covers only attacks made by "isis" terrorist group. Our source code is 100% native and there is no ads or third party services in our app.
Do you have any recommendations or advice for others wanting to create a mobile app?
If you're building a mobile app to become a successful business, you have to do two things right: First: Innovate, and second: make sure that there are plenty of people searching for that app in app store and google play already. Always remember that over 99,5% of the apps have been unsuccessful!
How did you decide which platforms to release your app on and do you plan on releasing your app to other platforms?
We started by releasing Android because people living in Terror target countries mostly using Android phones. We have now the IOS and Windows versions being released on App Store and Windows Store to cover any potential user.
How is your app different than the rest of the market? Which unique need does it fill?
ISIS Alarm Mobile application provides real-time alerts when a terrorist attack happens in any city.
The Live and Real-Time notification will be sent to all the users of our app in the attacked city.
What features do you hope to roll out to your app in the future?
We try to keep the app as simple as it is. The app is Free in all platforms and it will always remain free. This is maybe why we had more than 20,000 downloads in the first 2 months of the release. We are now considering partnership with Police departments and Governments that have shown interest in our project.
What has been the most rewarding aspect of the creation of this app?
We did not think about it at all. What we focused was the quality and we knew there are countries in the world that people do not afford to upgrade their phones, so we decided to make the code as simple as possible to work with old Android phones as well as the newest Android wearables.
What is the coolest or most innovative feature of your app?
In countries like China where Google Notification is censored or blocked by the Government, we have alternative Notification system. So all users, no matter what kind of Android device they use, and no matter where in the world they live, they recieve our Notifications.
