We had a chance to speak to Caroline Gennaro from Opera Software about the award winning Opera Max

Do you plan on releasing your app to other platforms as well?

While we don't discuss future releases, Max has done extremely well on Android and we hope to expand this to iOS.

If you could describe your app in ONE word, what would it be and why?

Life-changing

What is the coolest or most innovative feature of your app?

Opera Max is the only app that gives consumers significant data savings on mobile video, which makes up a large chunk of data usage and most apps. Vine, Instagram, YouTube ... you name it — it's all about video these days. Video costs a lot of data, and ultimately data is money. We make videos lighter. We can make a 10 MB video become 3 MB. For consumers, that means they can watch more video and get faster loading times.

What was your main objective or motivation for creating your mobile app?

Opera Max was created to provide a solution. Head of Product, Sergey Lossev, realized from his frequent commuting in the Bay Area, he would quickly hit his monthly mobile data usage limit. With that in mind, he set out to create an app that could help users have better control over their data usage. Opera Max's unique interface gives users a clear cut picture of how much data they have uses, what apps are using the most data, and how much they are saving with the app.
