We had a chance to talk with Jessica Troup, Owner/Partner of Paperwoven about her award-winning app

1. What was your main objective or motivation for creating the Paperwoven mobile app?

We wanted to create a convenient way to send real cards using a mobile device and make it smart enough to remind us of special days the next year. We realized it was a tool we could use ourselves, and there would be a market for Paperwoven.

2. If you could describe the Paperwoven app in ONE word, what would it be and why?

Unique. In a world of digital communication, mailing cards and letters has become less common. Here is a way to make someone actually feel like you care by _not_ posting on their wall or sending them an email, but a real card in the mail.

3. What is the coolest or most innovative feature of Paperwoven?

It allows you to setup recurring cards which will be picked for you the next year - if you want to choose another card for the occasion you still can, but the option to keep track of important dates is something we think is really effective.

4. Could you share a challenging factor of the development or marketing process?

There are a lot of ins and outs of fulfillment and it was a new challenge for us - luckily we have some great partners to help get the high-quality cards out promptly.

5. Any unexpected surprises post-release of the Paperwoven app?

Winning an award like Best Mobile App UI! We're still early in the process so this has been a wonderful acknowledgement, and it really validates our idea.

6. Do you plan on releasing an Android or Windows Phone app as well?

Yes. We will launch a mobile-friendly web version first so Android and Windows users can start sending cards while we work on native versions.

7. What is your favorite mobile app to date and which have inspired you?

Uber, SpotHero, Walgreens - I love apps that take care of every day activities in the real world. Like sending greeting cards!

8. What features do you hope to roll out to the Paperwoven app in the future?

Facebook linking, Gift bundles, Bulk orders are all on the road map.
