Recently we had an opportunity to speak with Omer Efrati, the CEO at ZECAR about ZECAR

Please share with us the backstory of what motivated you to create this app.

Two years ago I was driving on a small car that had fit to me and my wife needs, but with my first child on the way, we needed a new car that would fit the three of us, and so I started the car buying process.

It took me three months period to make my final decision, at this period I explored between 14 car brands and models, read a lot of articles and watched too much youtube videos, and today I'm sure I didn't make the right decision.

This situation made me think that there has to be a faster and more accurate way to get information about cars, and then came ZECAR.

What features do you hope to roll out to your app in the future?

We hope and plan that our unique technology will emerge from the world of automotive and will converge into other fields such as hotels, restaurants, medicine, and more.

What has been the most rewarding aspect of the creation of this app?

The first time I saw two car owners chat and help each other on the app

What is the coolest or most innovative feature of your app?

The possibility to ask any question about any car or any car subject and to enter a group chat with only suitable car owners with the relevant experience that can help with the issue of the question.

What surprised you most in your journey to create this app?

The speed of our team's work and the success of lifting this complex and technological product in less than two years.

Which other mobile apps or technology have inspired you?

The first app is Quora, a platform that creates connections between users who can help each other find answers to questions.

The other app was Waze and the fantastic way it created a community of users who help one another.

Do you have any recommendations or advice for others wanting to create a mobile app?

Check the product as quickly as possible on your customers, do not wait to work on the perfect product and then start testing.

How did you decide which platforms to release your app on and do you plan on releasing your app to other platforms?

We decided to start with the app because we wanted to create the best user experience for our first users. By the end of the year, we will also be ready with a site adapted to the web and mobile.

How is your app different than the rest of the market? Which unique need does it fill?

Today there are social car apps that can be considered our direct competition. These apps enable users to chat and to get information about cars. The big difference between these apps and ours is that their target audience is car enthusiasts, and they can't create intelligent matching between users.
