Could you share a challenging factor of the development or marketing process?

Making a frictionless app experience means limiting decision-making on behalf of the user. This means we had to decide what features we kept in the app and which to cut - like adding text, editing photos and filters.

Do you plan on releasing your app to other platforms as well?

Mosaic is available for iOS and Android, and we recently launched montagebook.com for the fastest photo book experience on the web.

Were there any unexpected surprises post-release of your app?

The rapid growth we experienced in the first few months was beyond what we expected - our customers truly love Mosaic.

What features do you hope to roll out to your app in the future?

Adding limited text like a title or gift note is a big request and looking into running more promos for our very loyal customers.

What is the coolest or most innovative feature of your app?

Speed - you can make a stunning hardcover photo book in less than 5 minutes.

What is your favorite mobile app to date and which have inspired you?

Mailbox is a stunningly simple yet powerful way to manage email. I get a lot of emails, and I find that their innovative swipe-based interface and clean design makes my life so much easier.

What was your main objective or motivation for creating your mobile app?

To create the most beautifully designed photo book experience for mobile with as little friction as possible.
