Recently we had an opportunity to speak with Heyyoung Kim, the CEO/Co-founder at Eewee Production, Inc. about Respekt Beauty Meditation

Please share with us the backstory of what motivated you to create this app.

I am currently in the beauty business producing skincare products and also have experience in meditation for almost 30 years. I've always known and felt that our beauty is not only a skin deep, it is way more profound. I have witnessed the powerful impacts of meditation and mindfulness as a skin and beauty solution along with good skincare products.

Our skin is hugely affected by the stress and inner state of ourselves and again reveals it. Stress can be a major underlying cause for everyday skin concerns such as dryness, dullness, wrinkles, enlarged pores, premature aging, breakouts, and can even worsen skin diseases such as psoriasis or eczema. Current beauty solutions are focused only on topical products but a holistic approach is desperately needed that encompasses the root cause, the stress.

Meditation is a proven way for stress relief, reducing the stress hormone called cortisol, increasing the delivery of oxygen and nutrition to the skin. Respekt Beauty Mediation is designed and developed to maximize the skin and beauty benefits of meditation and help to incorporate mindful skincare into everyday life.

What features do you hope to roll out to your app in the future?

Personalized recommendations based on the user's meditation behavior will give more personalized problem-solving experiences. That will be our beauty mediation app V.3. and it will be backed by the most advanced AI technology. Please stay tuned!

What has been the most rewarding aspect of the creation of this app?

Checking in and pursuing each area of my own wellness while crating the meditation contents truly brought the feeling of living in the moment, brought me back to my senses and deepened the joy of living mindfully.

What is the coolest or most innovative feature of your app?

I would say each beauty meditation session itself! Knowing the close connection between the body and mind can truly approach the root cause of all our skin concerns and that perspective and practice bring the real effect. The instant Relax and Rocus button, the stress self-assessment, and the beauty mantra meditation, mindful skincare meditations will take you to the next level of wellness-based skincare routine.

What surprised you most in your journey to create this app?

The infinite potential an app can do to bring values to people's lives and the fact that it can be the one who understands us the most and help us in a positive and effective way that you have never expected.

Which other mobile apps or technology have inspired you?

The meditation app, Calm. It was clear that guided meditation conveyed by the mobile app was nothing different than the real-world meditation experience and I learned that this mobile app format for meditation really worked. So that it inspired and encouraged me to start this new skincare routine app to be born.

Do you have any recommendations or advice for others wanting to create a mobile app?

Rather than any advice or recommendations, I would like to cheer and encourage whoever is working on their app. I want to say 'Your idea is worth it. Please make it happen! ". I am always amazed, inspired, and encouraged by small unique ideas that tuned out to an app which sprouted from real needs in everyday life.

How did you decide which platforms to release your app on and do you plan on releasing your app to other platforms?

So far we have released our beauty meditation app to iOS, Android, and Amazon skills platforms. Beauty Meditation should be an essential part of the skincare routine and whatever platform is available out there, we will try to reach out.

How is your app different than the rest of the market? Which unique need does it fill?

Our beauty mediation app embraces both beauty and wellness at the same time. It provides a whole new perspective and vertical both in the beauty industry and in the meditation market in such a way that it reconnects both concepts, bringing back the wholeness.
