We had a chance to speak to Barnier Geerling , the CEO at digimoo studios about Storm & Skye - An Animated Magical Adventure Story for Kids

Could you share a challenging factor of the development or marketing process?

Being visible in the app stores is always difficult. We were very fortunate to be featured by Apple as 'best new app for kids'.

Do you plan on releasing your app to other platforms as well?

We have released our app in the Apple app store and on Google Play. For us the main focus lies with Apple, since iOS users are more willing to pay for quality content.

If you could describe your app in ONE word, what would it be and why?

Magical

Were there any unexpected surprises post-release of your app?

No, there were not.

What features do you hope to roll out to your app in the future?

It is our mission to enable children of any age to open up to the magical worlds of their imagination and dream and we will continue to do so with many new episodes of Storm & Skye.

What is the coolest or most innovative feature of your app?

The story in this first episode of Storm & Skye is about 45 minutes long. This is unprecedented. The quality of the animations, artwork, music, sounds and narrator, combined with the length of the production really draws kids into the world of Storm & Skye.

What is your favorite mobile app to date and which have inspired you?

The inspiration for our app comes from the great collection of movies made by Disney/Pixar. We love all apps made by Toca Boca.

What was your main objective or motivation for creating your mobile app?

All kids love great storytelling. Unfortunately most apps in the app stores are games with a very shallow storyline. We wanted to bring back storytelling to kids, on their favorite mobile device. Not just a simple storybook, but an app that has compelling artwork, animations, sound and a great narrator. We wanted to combine the best of movies, with the best of books.
