Recently we had an opportunity to speak with Paul Ollivier, Independent Developer about Trimaginator

Could you share a challenging factor of the development or marketing process?

In all steps of development, optimization has always been one of my top priorities, I've spent a lot of time reducing the processing cost of all the algorithms used by the program, while striving to maintain the highest image processing quality possible.

Do you plan on releasing your app to other platforms as well?

Trimaginator is already available on iOS, Android and more recently OS X. I'm looking into making a Windows version someday.

If you could describe your app in ONE word, what would it be and why?

"Quirky" i suppose!.. Trimaginator has it's very own way of processing images, and a very unique ( strange but cool! ) user interface.

Were there any unexpected surprises post-release of your app?

I'm always surprised with what users can produce sometimes with the app. It goes beyond the range of possibilities I expected, and I get a lot of inspiration from that. Just #trimaginator on any social network, you'll see what I mean!

What features do you hope to roll out to your app in the future?

Among other things that could be improved: the user interface with a more classic effect preview, adding batch processing to the OS X version for video production... and a million other things!

Right now I'm working on a new, very cool image processing app, so any changes to Trimaginator will be delayed until I'm finished with it.

What is the coolest or most innovative feature of your app?

It's definitely how the software splits image processing in two steps : first you create the geometry of the image with point generators and / or manual point editing, then you work on the resulting mesh appearance : triangle outlines and fills, and how the result is blended with the original image. A natural way to achieve infinite combinations!

What is your favorite mobile app to date and which have inspired you?

I like drawing, so it will definitely be Sketches ( iOS )

What was your main objective or motivation for creating your mobile app?

My goal was to bring generative art to a large audience, with easy to use, one click filters, and at the same time to provide enough tools and flexibility to satisfy artist and graphic designer appetites.
